You hail from the Githyanki city of Vala’Koth, which is built upon the stone body of a dead god and is home to 15,000 githyanki. Despite the comparatively low number of individuals living at Crosswinds Keep, the githyanki have yet to successfully conquer the keep, and they have not found a way to exact tolls on anyone using that place as a stopover point. Because of their frequent raids within the area, they are among a select few races that are not allowed into the keep.
While on a mission to a Prime World known as Aebir-Toril your group unearthed evidence of the lost city of Kamyn-Dhun, a lost Githyanki city that was once produced the very finest of the Silver Swords. Legend has it that a huge psionic forge at the center of the city was not enough to save it when the Lich Queen discovered that its leader, a lich named Rha-zhul, had long been the secret leaded of a well concealed cult of Nerul. Shortly after returning to Vala’Koth you found yourself under warrant of death by the Lich Queen. It would seem that the reason so few have ever heard of Kamyn-Dhun is because knowing of its existence carries a death sentence.
Taking care to obscure your individuality you fled to the Prime, using the color pool to take you back to Toril and then putting as much distance between yourself and the portal as possible. Even in anonymity he is a distinctive presence- clad all in black with only his amber eyes showing, his bladed chain worn as a belt for easy access.
